Examining today all those things which I have accumulated in my life here today- material things, obligations, guilt, shame, habits, responsibilities, patterns, relationships, should-be’s, self-criticism etc.
Examining each carefully to determine if are they things I am grateful for, which provide me with a sense of abundance, or are they burdens I bury myself under, misunderstanding them for abundance?
As George Carlin says, and I paraphrase, “trying to be happy by accumulating material things is like taping sandwiches to our body when we are hungry”.
Which are the taped sandwiches, and which are the things we are truly grateful for. How can I respectfully shed that which no longer serves my higher self, and feel gratitude for all that makes my life feel abundant?
